Posted on: July 2nd, 2018 by freshadmin No Comments

If you are reading this article, you are probably planning to improve your smile and straighten your teeth. So, you should congratulate yourself for making this decision, considering there still are many people afraid of this procedure, implications and even costs.

Well, there is nothing to worry about. With Invisalign available at the Straight Teeth Suite, you don’t have to wear old-fashioned braces and the costs aren’t as high as you’ve thought.

  • So, What to Expect from Straightening Your Teeth?

Well, the treatment is easy and pretty fast, comparing to usual, fixed braces. Also, people don’t even have to know you are wearing anything in your mouth. Of course, they will begin noticing the improvement and probably the beauty of your smile. But the rest of it? Not really. Only if you tell them, since the aligners are almost invisible.

  • How Exactly Does this Work?

The procedure offered is far from being similar to the traditional braces, most people run away from. You should actually expect clear invisible plastic trays that must be changed every two weeks.

However, you must be careful and not let yourself tempted to do it any less than that, because you can actually stop tooth movement and encounter some issues.

  • Can You Take the Aligners Out?

You definitely shouldn’t take the aligners out more than you are advised to. These aligners must be worn for an average of 22-23 hours a day, so you only removed them to eat, drink and brush your teeth

  • Invisible Aligners Are Not Painful

Many people have this question and the answer is always the same: pain is a very subjective matter. However, with the invisible aligners, you won’t get the entire rubbing that you would with the fixed braces, Of course, there will be some pressure in the first week, but it does ease off afterwards.

  • Invisalign Doesn’t Really Affect Your Speech

Many people are quite afraid of their manner of speaking while wearing braces. When beginning to straighten your teeth in Loughborough, you might also get an unusual lisp, but it’s only temporary. However, besides the fact that many people find it cute, if you talk a lot or read a book out loud in the first days, your tongue can get used to it and the lisp will disappear quite quickly. Not as bad as you expected, right?

  • Is There Anything You Should Not Do While Wearing the Aligners?

After all the good news you received, it’s time for some interdictions. Actually, none of these is good for your health so you can have a positive perspective when it comes to the following advice: smoking and chewing gum are not recommended. Both can damage the aligners and there is a charge to replace them.

So, now that you found out how easy it can be to straighten your teeth are you ready to make an easy but important change in your life? Book your FREE assessment HERE or read Your Guide To Invisalign part 1 HERE

Your smile and eyes are the most important features of your face. Many people dream about the confidence of a healthy straight smile, but for most of you straightening your teeth seems like a big deal, thinking it must take forever. Well, the good news is getting the smile you have always wanted barely has to impact your daily life.

Transforming your smile with Invisalign doesn’t take as long as you thought and it’s a comfortable as well as removable treatment.  Your peers will hardly notice them.

  • Are you a Suitable Candidate for the Treatment?

The good news is that everybody who is tired of feeling uncomfortable when smiling can take advantage of this treatment. With Invisalign large bites are treated and so are the gaps between teeth. Yes, you can say goodbye too gappy teeth, and you don’t have to wear the annoying fixed braces all people complain about.

A straight smile can actually change your whole face and you can achieve this without too much hassle. The procedure involves invisible aligners, which can be removed, especially when you eat or brush your teeth.

For Invisalign to work properly, you must wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours per day. You remove your aligners when you’re eating, as well as drinking, unless its cold water. You may also want to avoid anything that’s too hard to chew because your teeth may be a bit tender. That’s pretty good news since you are able to eat anything you want without the fear of having something caught in your braces.

  • What if you are pregnant?

Yes, you can straighten your teeth if you are pregnant, but it depends on the stage of pregnancy, and sometimes we may postpone it until after you give birth, because taking x-rays of your teeth prior to treatment is absolutely necessary. So, just to make sure, you should speak to your midwife and GP and let them know you want to have dental treatment, such as braces where x-rays are required and ask for their opinion.

  • Can I have Invisalign if I have a dental bridge or crown?

Patients with bridges and crowns can also be treated. However, there are some things that must be discussed before. It really depends on their position and on how they would be influenced by the aligners. Once you have consulted, you will be told exactly if there are any issues or not. There have been patients with both bridges and crowns who were very happy with the results.

  • How comfortable will you feel wearing Invisalign?

The pain and discomfort people who wore fixed braces complained about is out of the question when it comes to treating your teeth with Invisalign. Of course, you might feel some pressure in the first week, but it will all be gone in time.

If you are ready to be more comfortable with your smile, and you think having straight teeth might help, getting your teeth fixed with Invisalign is a great option.

The custom-made aligners are barely noticeable and removable. They are also fast and extremely effective.

You probably have many questions about how to use the aligners, who can use them or what restrictions they might bring. So, here are some answers most people are looking for when it comes to getting straight teeth with Invisalign.

  • Are there any restriction on what I can eat while wearing the aligners?

Obviously, we don’t recommend you eat while wearing them because you could damage the aligners, so remove them when you’re eating and remove them when you’re drinking, unless its cold water. Also, you may want to avoid anything that’s too hard to chew because your teeth may be a bit tender but as long as you take them off you can basically eat anything you like (not like with fixed braces).

  • Can I Smoke While Wearing the Aligners?

No, smoking is not advised. Not only can you damage the aligners because obviously they’re made of plastic, but you can also discolor them quite severely. So do not smoke, please.

  • Can I Chew Gum While Wearing Aligners?

No, that is not recommended because again, you can damage your aligners and there will be a charge to replace them.

  • What’s the Best Way to Clean My Aligners?

A good and small toothbrush that can fit into the aligners works quite well and also rinse them in lukewarm water. You should not use anything like a denture cleaner, because they have got some chemicals that may end up damaging your aligners. Also, brushing your teeth after each meal and prior to re-inserting your aligners is strongly recommended.

  • Are there Certain Dental Conditions that Could Exclude Me from Being an Eligible Patient in Leicester?

Yes, unfortunately, if your gums are not healthy and if you have had a lot of bone recession around your teeth, you cannot have any treatment with braces. However, once your condition is treated, wearing aligners should not be a problem anymore. A consultation would be able to assess whether or not you are a suitable candidate.

  • How Often Do I Need to Change My Trays?

Straightening your teeth with Invisalign is not annoying or difficult. However, it is essential that you change your trays every two weeks.

For any questions, concerns, or queries, please feel free to contact the practice and book a FREE consultation. To read Your Guide To Invisalign part 1 CLICK HERE and for part 3 CLICK HERE

You probably heard many people talking about a method of straightening your teeth, which doesn’t have anything to do with the old-fashioned annoying braces people seem to be so afraid of. Invisalign became popular pretty fast thanks to the many benefits they bring to patients. Here are five of the reasons most people choose to improve their smile using invisible aligners in Loughborough.
1. You Don’t Have to Wait Too Long for a Confident Smile
Everything happens pretty fast around you and waiting years before being able to smile without feeling uncomfortable seems too much. This is why many people don’t even bother to try straightening their teeth. However, the new method, involving invisible aligners is different. In just a few months, you can get beautiful natural looking teeth without any effort at all.
2. Invisible Aligners Makes Straightening Your Teeth Comfy
This already famous procedure, involves a nearly invisible way to straighten your teeth. Even if people who wore fixed braces told you how awful it was for them, you should not be worried.

This method involves going through a succession of clear aligners, which you change every two weeks until your teeth are as straight as you always dreamed of. No rubbing wires like you would get with old fashioned braces and, of course, less pain and much less discomfort!
3. There is No Age Limit!
Age doesn’t matter, even if if you’re in your 60s or 70s. What matters is that your teeth and gums are healthy. However, many dentists prefer using Invisalign on young adults who have got all of the teeth present and fully formed.
4. The Treatment is Cost-Effective!
There are so many people who are afraid of prices when they hear all the information available on getting a great smile in Loughborough. But this is far from being an issue. The price really depends on the complexity of the treatment, but people say that, considering the effectiveness of the procedure, the price is more than affordable and you can spread the cost with a monthly payment plan.
5. Straightening your Teeth Doesn’t Have to Be Obvious
Nobody should feel ashamed to wear braces. However, there are many people who are uncomfortable with fixed braces, feeling like people stare at them. Well, with Invisalign all these fears are gone. Everything is close to being invisible so even if you feel conscious, your peers will have no idea you’re straightening your teeth while talking to them.

Invisalign is an effective but easy and comfortable journey towards a new life full of the confidence given by a beautiful straight smile. The invisible aligners are the proof that there is no need for too much hassle in order to get the straight teeth you’ve always wanted.

Invisalign: From A-Z in Nottingham

Posted on: May 5th, 2015 by freshadmin No Comments

Admittedly, Invisalign is gaining popularity, especially among adults, as a solution for orthodontic issues, and for a very good reason. Invisalign, unlike traditional ceramic-metal braces that require the placement of brackets on the teeth, in addition to being linked together with unaesthetic-pleasing wires, works, as its name suggest, almost invisibly. It is a particularly attractive solution for those that feel self-conscious about wearing braces that are noticeable and wish to draw attention away from their mouths, such as actors and teachers.

But, how much do you know about Invisalign? Here is a guide to the basic steps involved, so you know what to expect before you decide to opt for them or not.

  1. Consultation with our Certified Invisalign Providers

Please note that only professionals that have received specialised training can work with Invisalign.

That said, during your consultation appointment, our trained clinicians will assess your smile’s needs and determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign or not. This is necessary, because, in some cases, the type of problem may require another orthodontic treatment to fix, other than Invisalign.

  1. Creation of a Bespoke Treatment Plan

With Invisalign, we use a series of clear trays that are specially created by taking X-rays and impressions of your teeth, so they fit almost perfectly over your teeth. These are then submitted to a specialized laboratory that makes a 3D print of your smile, which will be used to create an individual treatment plan. That way, we are able to estimate the overall duration of your treatment.

  1. Arrival of Individually Moulded Trays

Once your customized trays arrive, the treatment process can commence. However, for Invisalign to work properly, you must wear the aligners 20 to 22 hours per day, remove them only when you eat or drink, and brush your teeth regularly. These trays will allow your teeth to move into the right position, as a means to correct your teeth alignment issues, without having to worry about anything during your everyday life. Once the individualised treatment plan is completed, you can look in the mirror and be euphoric with the beautiful smile you have gained!

Final Notes:

  • Normally, you will have to replace your aligners every couple of weeks and have a new set. This is to paramount to allow the teeth to continue moving throughout the treatment process.
  • It is important to check in with our team approximately every 6 weeks or so, to check how the treatment progresses.
  • Like any other teeth straightening method, maintaining your oral hygiene is critical to a successful orthodontic treatment. It is paramount to clean your aligner after you have removed it to eat or drink, so it won’t get stained and remains bacteria-free.

To acquire a gorgeous smile is not a far-fetched dream at Straight Teeth Suite, so don’t be intimidated by those that may discourage you from wearing braces, only because they think braces are for children.

How to get braces in Leicester

Posted on: June 16th, 2014 by freshadmin No Comments

If you think that braces are only for adolescents during their school years, then think again! In fact, getting braces while in your adulthood is something very common, nowadays. Numbers speak for themselves: 20% of those wearing braces today are adults! Especially after the innovative options that open the doors for less visible braces, having straight teeth is not only a matter of the youngsters and the teens.

Why do I need braces? Available Options.

First and foremost, at some point, you may find out that your once beautiful straight teeth have shifted. Having crooked teeth is the outcome of a condition called tongue thrust, which is a type of injury very common among adults. The teeth’s natural growth can also cause overcrowding in your mouth that directly (and in many cases severely) affects your smile. When this happens, you may start experiencing pain in your jaw, while cleaning your teeth will most likely send chills down your spine.

In order to address this problem, you can either go for Invisalign or ceramic braces. However, your orthodontist will be the one to make the calls and decide which types of braces are the best braces for you, after making an assessment of your case. For that reason, you need someone you can trust; someone with a solid reputation and excellent reviews. You need Straight Teeth Suite, in Leicester!

It is a treatment that can last from as little as 3 months. Many factors determine the total treatment time, such as the type of chosen treatment, and the patient’s condition.

Where do I start?

Here are some important steps that will take you exactly where you want!

Step 1: Request your Straight Teeth Suite Guide. Another gift for you offered for free! See for your own eyes cases of customers that were in your shoes a while ago. See how we have managed to transform their crooked teeth into fabulous straight teeth!

Step 2: Begin the journey to braces, by booking your free consultation at our suite, located in Leicester; a special offer by Straight Teeth Suite, only for you! Our dental experts will answer all your queries and advise you as per the ways you can get your ideal smile back. Your satisfaction is our reward and we will bend over backwards to give you what you have always wanted: straight teeth and boosted self-confidence that springs from your attractive smile!

Step 3: Make an appointment and initiate the process of wearing braces. You and your orthodontist will have a detailed discussion, in regards your dental needs. Afterwards an assessment will follow, where you will be asked to get your teeth and jaws examined and then run a series of tests, such as x-rays, a teeth impression, and photographs. A teeth-impression is one of the easiest and painless procedures ever. You will only bite into a mould that is filled with special dental putty. An impression of your teeth is imprinted on the mould, as soon as you open your mouth again!

Step 4: You get a thorough examination of your gums and teeth, to unveil any problems whatsoever, including periodontal disease and decay, which are both serious conditions that need immediate attention and treatment before you start any other procedures.

Step 5: This is the stage where you wear your braces. Their placement is fast, and is completely painless, although procedures may vary, depending on the type of braces you and your orthodontist have decided to use.

Step 6: So, you are wearing your new braces! Well done! Now, you only set frequent 20-minute appointments (every 4-6 weeks), just to make sure everything goes as planned, or make any necessary adjustments that your orthodontist considers important, such as adjusting your braces, so your teeth are pulled to the right direction at all times. It is a crucial stage of your teeth-straightening process, and if you fail to follow-up, you slow down your own progress. This will eventually make you wear the braces for much longer than initially planned.

Step 7: This is the best part! If everything has gone clockwise, you are about to have your braces removed! Again, through a painless and simple process. Removable orthodontic appliances, called retainers, will then be provided so you can sail through the last phase of your orthodontic treatment. Since teeth are usually unstable right after braces are removed, they tend to get back to their initial position (before the braces). In order to avoid this unwanted situation, retainers are used, so the treatment is completed successfully.

If life is all about moments of joy, then you will, hopefully, have lots of smiling moments from now on!

Am I too old to have braces?

Posted on: April 8th, 2014 by freshadmin No Comments

Many adults fear the sight of a camera and the request ‘smile!’ because they are embarrassed by their teeth. There has been little hope for those who feel self-conscious about their smile. Metal braces are seen as too ugly and time-consuming for adults, while other teeth straightening procedures may be seen as expensive and invasive.

Effective cosmetic braces for adults

New developments in teeth straightening technology mean that there are several options that are both effective and affordable and lifestyle appropriate. Both the Inman Aligner and Fastbraces have benefits for adults. The Straight Teeth Suite offers a down-to-earth guide to selecting the best cosmetic braces for you.

Inman Aligner

While the Inman aligner is not new, its capacity to straighten crooked or badly aligned teeth makes it a suitable orthodontic appliance for adults. It is valued because it has several advantages of fixed metal braces; the coil spring and bar structure ensures that the teeth are move to a better position over an eight week period by small movements that push/pull the teeth into correct alignment.

Advantages

  • It is very swift, working in 6-16 weeks to straighten teeth
  • It is a single brace system that can also act as a retainer
  • It is easy to use, and can be removed in seconds
  • It only needs to be worn 16 hours a day and is remarkably discreet in use
  • It is a very cost-effective solution in comparison to other orthodontic techniques.

Disadvantages

Of course there is no perfect solution to straighten front teeth and the Inman aligner has some downsides too:

  • It only works for front teeth and can’t address overcrowded teeth
  • It is not totally transparent; a tiny metal bar resting against the front teeth can generally be seen
  • Inman Aligners affect the speech when first fitted, requiring a week or two to get used to the system

Fastbraces

The concept of Fastbraces is relatively new in the UK but has been used for over 20 year in the USA and has proven great clinical success. This novel orthodontic treatment works much more rapidly than other fixed braces, while the design is basically similar to the classic fixed brace but because the design of the fast brace moves both the root and the crown of the teeth simultaneously, treatment time is dramatically shorter.

Advantages

  • The triangular brackets allow for finer and more flexible wire so the brace is lightweight and unobtrusive
  • Fastbraces can treat a range of complex problems such as: misaligned teeth, crowding, spaces between teeth.
  • This type of fixed braces is very quick and efficient and allows completion of treatments within 3 to 10 months.

Disadvantages

  • The cost of Fastbraces is higher than some other orthodontic brace treatments like the Inman Aligner
  • They involve metal brackets fixed on your front teeth during the length of the treatment.

Choosing the right cosmetic brace for your teeth

Both options will straighten teeth, giving a happy, healthy smile, and The Straight Teeth Suite, Nottingham offers a free consultation appointment to help you explore which is best for you.

Have you ever wanted to have one a perfect smile? But is your reality that of crooked teeth or a crowded, misaligned smile? Do you think there’s no help?

Not only is there help for adults with crowded or overlapping teeth but it may be necessary for good health. While most adults have cosmetic concerns with their teeth, the health concerns can be important: overlapping teeth are harder to clean, leading to a higher risk of tooth decay and gum disease, whilst teeth that don’t meet properly when the mouth is closed – called malocclusion – can lead to difficulties in chewing or swallowing. Poor tooth alignment can also contribute to difficulties in pronunciation and even put strain on the chewing muscles causing stress and eventually, facial pain.

There’s no doubt that it’s best to start orthodontic treatment for poorly aligned teeth or crowded smiles in childhood. At this age, simple braces with wires and rubber bands serve to move the teeth and correct their alignment.

Increasingly, adults are discovering that specialist orthodontic treatment has excellent results. In fact the American Association of Orthodontists recently reported that one in five orthodontic patients is eighteen or over. Which is good news, because there’s no age limit on having healthier, straighter teeth. There is a bit of bad news though, as we age our jawbone toughens so the teeth move more slowly so effective treatment can take longer. At Straight Teeth Suite Nottingham, we specialise in helping adults achieve the smile of their dreams.

Traditional braces

  1. The traditional metal braces with an arch-wire are held in place by elastic bands which gradually shift the teeth into better positions.

  2. Ceramic braces are tooth coloured that attach to the teeth’s outer surface and are usually recommended for upper front teeth.

  3. Lingual braces fit to the back surfaces of the teeth rather than the front, working in the same way as classic metal braces, and are undetectable.

All four of these treatment systems require a year to two years of treatment and often extraction.

Adult braces

For adults, cosmetic orthodontics may be a more viable proposition. This form of dental treatment uses the latest technology to reposition teeth swiftly and safely. Because it focuses on the teeth that show when smiling, there is no need for every tooth in the mouth to be realigned. Wires made from nickel titanium alloy deliver a fast and effective treatment that is also comfortable. This treatment system is often called Short Term Orthodontics and it doesn’t require tooth extractions, but it can’t correct the whole bite.

Cosmetic orthodontic systems – shorter period to a great smile

  • Six Month Braces use technology to move teeth quickly and safely with clear adult braces that improve the teeth that are revealed when smiling.
  • Accelerated Removable Braces are specifically designed to straighten the four front teeth and have particular effectiveness when teeth which have already been straightened begin to move again.
  • Invisible Braces are the most aesthetically pleasing, straightening the teeth with invisible aligners which can be removed to eat or when brushing the teeth.

Regardless of age, crooked teeth needn’t stop you smiling, nor cause other dental problems, just call us today and let us help you get the straight teeth you’ve always wanted.
